Town ‘upbeat’ as they look to upset the odds in cup ties

They were denied their first league victory thanks to a late equaliser at Coagh United on Saturday and now they want to ease the pain by upsetting the odds against two Championship One sides.

Tonight (Tuesday) they travel to Loughgall in the Mid-Ulster Cup (kick-off 7.45pm) before going to Holm Park to take on Armagh City in the Bob Radcliffe Cup quarter-final on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

“They’re two good cup ties and we’re very upbeat going into them,” said boss Ryan Watson.

“We want to progress. They will be two tough games but we’ve got nothing to lose.

“Hopefully we can reproduce the football from the first 20 minutes on Saturday and take our chances. Maybe they will underestimate us a wee bit.”

“We’d like to be going straight into our next league game but this will be a break from the pressure of the league.

“I alwaysreally loved playing Loughgall as a player. This will be my first time facing them as manager at Banbridge Town and I’m looking forward to it.”
