THE two Ladies teams in Banbridge got their pres season off to a start with an unexpected draw at Cheney Park last Tuesday evening.
Banbridge Rangers were four divisions lower than the Town last season but took a 2-0 lead into half time with Donna Donnell opening the scoring after ten minutes from a corner followed by an individual goal from strike partner Lauren Thompson who turned well inside the box before finishing well past Charmain McCrum.
After the break Banbridge Town lifted their game somewhat with Jemma Jackson and Lauren Redpath having more of an influence in the middle park putting relentless pressure on the new Rangers centre half pairing off Christine Robinson and Annette Greenstreet.
With 15 minutes remaining it was Redpath who popped up at the backpost to start the Town comeback.
With just under five minutes to go Banbridge Town equalised with a long range effort evading Vicky Baird in the Rangers goal to leave the scores all tied.
