RATHFRILAND’S first match back after the winter break saw them come up against a young Damolly team.

They were on top early on and went three up with two goals from Scott Chambers and one from Ben Johnston.

Damolly missed their chance to get back into game when they missed a penalty and to add insult to injury Chambers completed his hat-rick before half time.

Rathfriland dominated the second half and with two goals from Alan McKnight and one each for Paul Travers and Leon Shimmons completed a comfortable win.

Rathfriland encountered a much tougher Damolly team in the second game of the day and secured a hard fought draw.

Rathfriland were the stronger  team in the first half and pressurised Damolly with some hard work in midfield from Rhys McKee and Ben Johnston with Danielle Megaw in goals dealing comfortably with anything Damolly could throw at her.

The second half continued with in much the same vein with Rathfriland applying all the pressure without creating any clear cut chances.

Damolly almost stole the win on the break in the final minute, however a last ditch challenge by Thomas Ingram and some well timed assistance from Ethan Niblock and Alan McKnight secured the draw.
