Drumbo Seconds 1
Dromore entertained league leaders Drumbo on Saturday at Ferris Park with the visitors netting 27 goals in their last two games without reply.
They started the better as well and looked the more likely to open the scoring and only for a great one-handed save from Beggs in the Dromore goal they would have been ahead.
Dromore started to come more into the game with McMurray and Curran in the middle starting to get the better off the midfield exchanges and on 20 minutes they duly took the lead when good work from the returning Walker set up Noble and he made no mistake with a crisp finish to the bottom corner.
It was soon 2-0 when the ball bounced loose in the box; Noble bicycled kicked low into bottom corner for a great finish.
He almost had his hat trick as the half drew to a close only for the keeper to save low down to his left after he cut inside his marker.
Drumbo came out strongly at start of the second half, looking a goal to find their way back into the game but the defence off Martin, Ward, Hodgen and Henderson held out strong and on 60 minutes Dromore got the killer third goal when Beattie scored after good work from Curran and Walker in the build up.
The goal off the game come on 70 minutes when the ball was cleared up to the half way line, Noble controlled and put Beattie clear on goal. He unleashed a drive into the top corner to the delight off the home crowd.
Number five was added on 80 minutes when sub Maxwell found himself in space out on the right and he delivered a great ball to Noble at the back post to volley home Dromore”s 5th and his hat trick.
To their credit Drumbo battled on and got a late consolation with their midfielder smashing a 20 yard drive past the hapless Beggs. Next up for Dromore is the visit off 18th Newtonabbey to Ferris Park with a 2pm kick off.
