Mixed week

BANBRIDGE Town U9s again travelled to the Games Development Centre at Brownstown Park, Portadown and played two games losing 2-0 against a very strong Lurgan Predators side and then defeated Tandragee Rovers 4-0 in their second game.

In the first game Banbridge competed all the way and there was very little between the two sides until the later stages of the game.

The defence of Alex Innocenzi and Bobby Jones were very comepetent in thrwarting the dangerous Lurgan attack while Josh Kerr’s workrate in midfield along with Taylor Hill and Daniel McGivern was excellent.

Tom King was unfortunate with a long ranage effort with Harry Annett also going close witha blocked shot.

Talor Hill and Daniel McGivern also had great shots just over although the Lurgan side took the lead deep into the match with the number 11 scored a lobbed just in under the crossbar.

Toby Jones pulled off two fantastic saves to keep the score down while in the dying seconds the Predators scored a very late second.

Previous games between these two sides seena bigger gap but Banbridge have closed that in the last few weeks and only for a couple of unfortunate mishaps could have drawn the game.

TEAM: Toby Jones, Alex Innocenzi, Bobby Jones, Taylor Hill, Josh Kerr, Ganiel McGivern, Harry Annett, Tom King, Finn Martin.
