Juniors find another super striker as McAllister nets four on league debut

Town Juniors Under 16s got their season off to a flyer with a goal fest at Crystal Park on Saturday morning when they bagged a thrilling 9-2 win over Dungannon Colts.

The new look Juniors welcomed key summer signings for their debuts and they proved instrumental in the victory, Sam McAllister even bagging four.

The game started with the Juniors on the front foot, dominating possession and terrorising the Colts back line. A midfield trio of Jordan Walker, accompanied by debutants Ryan Angus and Ryan Sloan pressed the Colts deep into their own half, winning a free kick in a dangerous area on the 12th minute.

Captain Jake Laffin stepped up to swing in an inviting pass which the Colts failed to clear and Josh Dennison hammered into the net. The Juniors superior work rate and hunger for the ball told as more and more chances arrived.

With the game 15 minutes old, Ryan Angus split the defence for fellow new boy Sam McAllister to slot home expertly for his first for the club. The locals were rampant and added a third goal on 23 minutes when Sam McAllister doubled his tally when he chipped the keeper from the edge of the area.

With no response from the opposition the Juniors continued to terrorise the defence and right on half time, McAllister completed a perfect debut when he got his third.

The second half began in the same fashion as the first ended but to their credit, the Colts rallied and put some pressure onto the Juniors back four.

They managed to find a goal 10 minutes into the half, which they followed up with a quickfire second before the Juniors were able to regroup.

With the score fixed at 4-2 the Colts were awarded a penalty but the spot kick hit the crossbar and was smothered by keeper Conor Ward. Town broke fast and worked the ball from one end to the other to notch a fifth through winger Jake Dennison.

With the Juniors now in full flight a sixth goal soon followed, this time through another debutant Alex Donnelly who found the corner from just inside the area. The Juniorse added a further three goals before the full time whistle, with McAllister getting his fourth, Dennison doubling his tally and Jonny Rodgers getting off the mark.
