Hard fought victory in Bangor for Dromore Amateurs U14s

Dromore U14s opened their league campaign with a hard fought victory over Bangor Rangers.

With everyone looking forward to the new campaign it was an immediate shock to be 1-0 down after two mins before disaster struck and Dromore found themselves 2-0 down within the first ten minutes.

Once the midfield quartet of R Gallagher, R Woods, H Thomas and O McLuckie got themselves on to the ball Dromore were able to regroup and for the remainder of the first half set about attacking the Bangor goal.

Dromore’s first goal was scored by O Crozier, after a strong run down the right flank he unleashed a fierce shot from 25 yards which whizzed past the Bangor keeper. The equalizer came on the stroke of half time with O McLuckie opening his account from close range.

The opening exchanges in the second half saw both sides struggle to make any impact. O Crozier got Dromore in front with another strong run as he outpaced the Bangor defenders and cooly slotted it past the keeper.

Bangor were reward after some fine play to make the score 3-3. J Howard thought he had scored the winner late on but a Bangor defender blocked his fierce effort on the line.

As the game was nearing the final whistle the hero of the day O Crozier again raced clear to slot home his hat-trick.

With the nerves jangling for everyone watching Bangor themselves had a couple of efforts at the end to maybe sneak the draw but they found debutant Ben Scott in immense form backed up with goalie Miguel Ferriera keeping the Bangor forwards at bay. A great team performance battling back from 2-0 down but on the day the man of the match award went to O Crozier.
