On a wet Saturday morning Dromore started the new season with a flood of goals.
Philip was made captain and opened the scoring with a great goal. He made a strong tackle, went round another player and finished well. Joel then scored from outside of the box. Philip scored again with a tap in and the last goal of the first half was a strong shot from Magill, deflected in for an own goal.
The team was gelling well after four pre-season 11-a-side friendlies. They beat Loughgall 3-2 with Euan scoring the first goal of the year. Also on the score sheet was Neil Hawthorne and a trialist. Then they drew with Sunnyside 2-2 Magill scored a great individual goal and Fynn Sviter finishing off well a blocked shot. The next game was a 4-2 win against Lisburn Distillery, with Adam scoring two great goals, Morgan and an og. A final warm-up game was against Hillsborough winning 4-2, here Morgan. Changes were made in the second half by bringing Jason Weir on the left wing and Jack Soye into the middle. Both started well and kept the team shape. The fifth goal soon came with a headed goal by Morgan from a superb corner by Joel. The next was scored by Morgan - a cross from Philip was directed up the keeper’s driving body. The next Magill buried; when the ball broke to him outside the box and the final goal was a well timed cross by Jason, with Briggs nipping in to touch the ball home.
