Ex Lisburn Distillery boss Paul Kirk has taken over just days after Clifford Sterritt announced he was stepping down from the role.

As the Leader reported during the week, Kirk had been linked with the job and has left Lisburn Rangers to take over to Iveagh Park.

Kirk guided the Lisburn Gers to two promotions in three season, recently securing second spot to Rathfriland in Division 1A.

Paul brings Stevie Houston with him as a coach and says he is eager to start working with a squad of “champions” as the club moves into the NAFL Premier Division next season.

“I’ve come into this club with the same enthusiasm the club has met me with - to be successful and to go forward,” Paul told the club’s Facebook page.

“I want to give the supporters a brand of football that they’re going to be happy to see, and, more importantly, a winning team.

“I’m delighted to have this opportunity to work at a club as ambitious as I am.”
