So says boss Stuart King but he is hoping they will leave the rest of the Premiership Intermediate League in no uncertain terms over the coming weeks.

Town host Bangor in the first round of the Intermediate Cup on Saturday (kick-off 1.30pm) as they begin a run of four straight weeks with a game.

That’s been a rarity so far this season - in fact Town haven’t played a competitive match yet this month.

“Hopefully we can really kick on now and show everybody how good we can we,” said King. “I know my players can beat anybody in our league.”

Bangor are currently without a manager after Garth Scates left to take over at Knockbreda but a 4-1 win over Queen’s last Saturday means they go into Saturday’s tie on a high.

“It’s another really tough game,” admitted King. “All of our cup matches seem to be one of the hardest draws we could get. But we know on our day we can beat anyone.

“It’s the biggest cup competition that we have a chance of winning. Everybody in our league will be looking at it and thinking they have a good chance but we can’t look any further than Saturday’s game.”

Town will be without Jack McCreanor, who face a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury although Damian McParland will this week return to training after a groin problem.

Having an all but full panel to choose from is something of a novelty for King, who welcomes the competition - particularly up front, where Conor Downey, Neil Clydesdale and Ashley Gregg are strong candidates for starting spots.

“All three of those guys are capable of scoring 20 goals a season,” said King. “There is friendly competition between them to get a shirt because it’s very rare I’ll play three up front.

“When people know they are going to play every week, they can become lackadaisical but now they know that they have to take their chance in training and if they do get a place in the team, they have to play well to keep it.

“There are hard decisions to make now but that’s why I’m the manager. I’ve complained enough when I didn’t have decisions to make.”
