Donacloney Football Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Errol Curran as their new First Team Manager.

Errol is a highly qualified coach (UEFA B licence holder), well known and respected in local football circles having previously been involved at Glenavon, Banbridge Town, Rathfriland Rangers and Dromara Village amongst others.

Errol will take on full control of the club’s First Team affairs, with Gary Knox as his assistant.

Gavin Truesdale, assisted by Matthew Holmes, remain in charge of the club’s improving Reserve side.

With their new manager appointed, the club would also like to place on record their thanks to outgoing First Team manager Brian Gregson.

Brian has been in charge of the club’s First Team since 2010 and the club are pleased to say that he will remain involved at the club, taking up a position on the committee where his knowledge and input on off the field matters will be beneficial for the club as a whole moving forward.

The 2015/16 season sees Donacloney FC celebrate their 125th Anniversary and all involved at the club are keen to progress both on and off the pitch and make this significant milestone season one to remember for the club.

The earliest point the club have been able to trace their roots back to is the 1890/91 season when Donacloney FC won the Mid Ulster Cup in what was only the fourth year of the competition.

The club are the earliest Mid Ulster Cup champions that are still in existence today.

Donacloney FC’s pre-season training starts at the club’s home pitch, The Holmes on Tuesday June 30 at 7.00pm.

The club are keen to attract new faces and new players are very welcome to come along to pre-season which will be continuing on Tuesday and Thursday nights throughout July and August (no training on 14th July).

The Holmes can be accessed via the back of the Lagan View estate.

The club are also welcoming match sponsors for the upcoming season.

Individuals and businesses can sponsor one of their games in this 125th Anniversary Season for £50.
