Donacloney Reserves secure consecutive wins

DONACLONEY Reserves hosted Armagh Blues on Saturday past and come away with a hard fought 1-0 victory, to give them consecutive victories for the first time this season.

Donacloney defended for large periods of the game and took the lead on 30 minutes when Calvert played Hugh Dempsey in to coolly slot home.

Armagh looked for an immediate reply and saw a penalty saved by the Cloney keeper before the break.

The second half continued with Cloney putting in another defensive display as Blues pushed for the elusive equaliser. They gained another penalty which was scored, but the ref ordered a retake due to encroachment. The retake being blasted over the bar, much to the delight of a hard worked Cloney backline of McClure, Johnson, Dickson, Major and McNickle.
