Defeat for Rangers in daunting away trip to Fivemiletown United

On Saturday afternoon Banbridge Rangers played their fourth league game of the season with all four being played away from home.

The trip to Fivemiletown is always a daunting task due to their impressive home record at the Valley Stadium.

The first half was a particularly scrappy affair with neither side able to create any clear cut chances or momentum. There was a lot of start stop play and the Gers never looked like breaking the deadlock despite plenty of pressure and cornee kicks.

With four minutes remaining Fivemiletown snatched the winner when McDowell took a quick free kick on the edge of the area and Ashley McFarland rounded Crawford before blasting in.
