Rathfriland FC face a tough start to the Amateur League season.

Pre-season is well under way and the first fixtures of the 16/17 Amateur League Premier Division are out.

Rangers now know they face a baptism of fire as they return to the top Amateur League division for the first time in 18 years.

They have been handed an away tie against Ards Rangers on the opening day on Saturday 13th August.

Ards Rangers were runners up last season and fixtures don`t come much tougher than this one at Drome Park. This is followed by a mouth watering away midweek fixture (16th / 18th Aug TBC) against Paul Kirk`s former club Lisburn Rangers with a home league fixture against Nortel on Saturday 20th August. Another home midweek fixture ( 23rd / 25th Aug TBC) against Derriaghy CC completes the first set of fixtures for Rangers.
