Lurgan United started the game well and Donacloney had to defend well for the first 20 minutes before playing their way into the game.

The best chance of the half came as the Lurgan United keeper couldn’t hold onto Stuart Bickerstaff’s strike from 30 yards and Steven Leckey almost nipped in to score, but it wasn’t to be and the game remained scoreless at half-time.

Cloney took the game to United in the second half with the trio of Shields, Leckey and O’Boyle pushing higher up the pitch to give a greater attacking threat. Leckey scored an excellent solo goal, carrying the ball from just inside the half before coolly slotting home.

Niall Devlin levelled the scores for Lurgan United on 88 minutes. Seven minutes of injury time were played and right at the last, United headed in from a corner kick to take all three points.

CLONEY: Curran, Stokes, Carson, Watterson, Ritchie, Higgins, Brown, Shields, Leckey, O’Boyle, Bickerstaff. Subs: Knox (Bickerstaff), Wylie (O’Boyle).
