YCOB went into the game without the services of their talisman Stevie McArdle and winger Paul Walsh.

McCourt couldn’t of hoped for a better start when inside the first three minutes YCOB were awarded a penalty which the confident Gartland slotted home.

The rest of the first half was all one way traffic, with YCOB creating chance after chance through the intelligent passing of Drainey and the hold up play of Rooney.

It wasn’t until the second half though, that YCOB got their second goal through another penalty from Gartland.

YCOB lost both Barry Nelson and Cunningham to ankle injuries. Veteran Paddy Burns made his return to the first team from the bench along with Donaghy and Mucker McGrath

With 20 minutes to go YCOB killed off the game when man of the match McKay crossed for Donaghy to head home from close range.

Southside got a goal of their own, but soon after the restart, left back McAlinden played in Mucker McGrath who coolly beat the last defender and had the cheek to nutmeg the goalkeeper to round off the scoring and do his chances of starting next week a world of good.
