ON Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 July the Private Greens semi-finals were played at Ulster Transport.
The Gilford club had three of the four rinks fighting it out for the coveted title.
The draw was made and the Gilford rinks drawn against each other were M Higgins, A Hughes, DJ Wilson and skip M Greenfield against F Larkin, J Kelly, T Bell and skip C Dennison.
With Fergus Larkin on holiday Steven Adamson took his place on the rink at lead. Cliffy’s rink ran out winners by a seven shot margin to take their place in Saturday’s final at the same venue.
Next up for Dunbarton was the rink skipped by Conor McCartan with Eamon McElroy, Greg Moore and Gary McElroy only losing out by the narrowest of margins to B McGrath of Old Bleach BC.
Eamon McElroy became the club’s youngest competitor in a senior PG semi final and will surely play in many more.
The final was on Saturday August 4 and after returning home from holiday Fergus Larkin took his place in the rink with fellow junior players James and Clifford along with team stalwart Tony Bell.
The Dunbarton rink lifted the title winning by a nine shot margin to a huge roar from the travelling supporters.
Now they travel to Blackrock BC in Dublin to contest the Irish title.
Everyone at Dunbarton would like to wish Fergus, James, Tony and Clifford all the best and a large Dunbarton following will make their way to cheer on there club mates.
