Dromore made to work for home win

Dromore Bowling B team were put to the test in their home game against Ballymacarrett on Saturday last and were glad to take five points in an eleven shot victory.

The Belfast club made their intentions clear early in the game - they were not here to make up the numbers. At the halfway stage they were still in the game at nine down. A Sudlow and S Malcomson’s rinks were tied at seven each R Malcomson playing against a three man rink was five ahead, T Sudlow four ahead.

The visitors were still giving nothing away and at three quarter stage the margin was 16 in favour of Dromore. S Malcomson four to the good, A Sudlow one up while R Malcomson had a good lead of eleven with T Sudlow all square.

In the final six ends, the visitors tried to pull the game back but the home team held on for victory.

S Malcomson had a bad quarter to go down by 11, R Malcomson was a good winner by 15, A Sudlow down by a single shot and T Sudlow finished eight ahead.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) the Juniors will play Lagan Valley away and there are no games on Saturday.
