DROMORE Ladies Hockey Club Juniors were out in force again after their snow-extended Christmas break on Sunday January 27.
The club were fielding four teams in the U11 category and three teams in the U13 category, a great turnout in a tournament where the girls had to dig deep in their reserves to battle the main opponent which was the biting wind.
The U11 teams played in the morning against Armagh, Lisnagarvey and Banbridge to be followed in the afternoon by the U13.
Lisnagarvey buzzed with a huge amount of 6 a side games as the various clubs and teams played off against each other.
Dromore has at times to battle against opposing teams from the club has been able to field so many teams, a great reflection of the club’s success, growth and support from parents.
The coaches were easily spotted in their new coaching jackets sponsored by Shoefair Sports, Banbridge.
The sun shone but the wind was bitter so the girls had to keep on the move and put on numerous layers between matches to keep warm.
All the teams played well and quickly settled backcontinued their confi into their games after the Christmas and snow recess.
As the matches their confidence grew and they pushed harder for the goal and the defence tackled hard.
It was great to see the numerous new girls involved in the teams and their confidence growing. There were many saves and goals and another successful day out for Dromore.
Thank you to all those parents who froze to support their enthusiastic daughters and to the numerous coaches and umpires who helped out.
