DROMORE Ladies travelled just a short this week to Havelock Park, Banbridge, to meet local rivals Banbridge Ladies at a 1pm pass back.
From the first whistle Dromore came out strong putting pressure on the Banbridge defence, trying their best to get an early lead on the game.
Banbridge however defended well and kept Dromore’s forwards from finding the backboard.
Eventually Dromore forward Lauren Pedlow found a foot in the circle and won a penatly corner, which was converted with a drag flick by Anna Martin.
On a high, Dromore were on the attack again, with the ball being transfered from Gemma Porter in defence through to Christine Robinson in midfiled, then through to Rachel Morrow who took on the keeper and found the back of the net. 2-0 down,
Banbridge attack managed to break through Dromore defence and after some tremendous saves by goalkeeper Chrissie Winson,
Banbridge eventually found the back board, with two quick goals, leaving the score at 2-2.
With half time approaching Dromore won another corner, which was placed into the bottom right hand corner of the net by captain Tara Malcolmson.
After half time both teams came back onto the pitch with Dromore leading 3-2. Banbridge were deperately seeking the equaliser, while Dromore were fighting hard defensively to keep their lead, but also were on the attack to secure their win.
After a few close calls for Dromore’s defence, Banbridge were very unlucky not to score the equaliser, being denied by the post.
After an exhilerating game, it finished with a 3-2 victory to Dromore.
Thank you to Chloe Glover for umpiring. Dame of the Game was awarded to Anna Martin.
