Over 650 boys and girls took part in Banbridge Rugby Club’s annual Mini Rugby Festival, sponsored by Devenish Nutrition and held at Rifle Park last Saturday.

Players from the host club were joined by squads from Armagh, Dromore and Portadown Rugby Clubs and they enjoyed perfect playing conditions with 82 games being played over the course of the morning.

After the action had finished Bann Junior Chairman Paul Wright presented the Dromore squad with the Fair Play Trophy and said he was delighted with how the Festival had gone.

“All the clubs really entered into the spirit of the Festival which is all about inclusion and participation,” he continued.

“While all the teams like to win the scores aren’t recorded and the Trophy is awarded to the club which overall has best displayed the ‘Fair Play’ values of mini rugby.

“We were delighted to once again have the Festival sponsored by Devenish Nutririon and our thanks also go to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for the grant support they gave to the event,” the Chairman said.
