Bowls: Vital week for Dunbarton’s double dream

The big games keep coming thick and fast for the Gilford bowlers as they continue their quest for league and cup glory.

Firstly, on Tuesday night, the locals travel to old foes Ballymena for a vitally important league match.

A victory for the Gilford men and they would cement their place as firm favourites to regain the title they wants so bad, having last won it in 2010.

Whilst a defeat would not spell the end of their title hopes, it would bring Belmont and Ballymena right into the mix and then any of the three teams could emerge victorious in the run in.

Next Saturday, the Dunbarton bowlers will either face Belmont in the Irish Cup or host Willowfield in the league, depending on what date is set for the much anticipated semi-final date.

Essentially, every game is now a cup final for the Gilford bowlers.
