Banbridge Hockey Club hosts youth league games

Banbridge Hockey Club hosted the Ulster Hockey Southern Region Under 11 and Under 13 youth league fixtures on Sunday January 19 at Havelock Park.

Teams from Cookstown, Portadown, Armagh and Ballynahinch attended along with three Banbridge teams in the Under 11 section and two teams from Bann in the Under 13 section.

In both sections the Banbridge A teams were outstanding. They played great hockey with some very talented players in the squads which bodes well for the future of Banbridge Hockey Club. The Banbridge U11 A team were unbeaten only dropping points when they drew with rivals Cookstown while the U11 B and C Teams had mixed results. In the Under 13 section, Banbridge A team dominated winning all their games while the B team won three games and lost four.

Thanks to all the volunteers who gave up their day to help with coaching, umpiring, catering etc.
