DROMORE U15 in Plate quarter final v Pegasus - Dromore Ladies Hockey Club’s 2013 U15 squad continued their successful run when they headed to the Dub, Belfast to meet Pegasus.
This is always an exciting head to head and of course this match had all the elements of a great game with the final score only determined in the final seconds of the game.
Alanna Wilson had scored during an intense fixture when Dromore had a good run at the goal but unfortunately the goal was disallowed which took the game to a scoreless draw and penalty runs.
The U15 were determined and gritty to the end, holding a keen eye and made some good decisions in the penalty runs where players have 11 seconds to score on their run up, head to head with the opposition’s goalie. Alanna Wilson held her nerve to score on her penalty run and was joined by Sarah Russell who with their joint efforts made Dromore victorious with 2-0.
A special mention must go to goalie Emma Warnock who was outstanding and saved the penalty runs from Pegasus, leaving Dromore victorious.
Dromore v Bannon, Co.Cork on tour - The U15 showed their form when they met up at Lisnagarvey to play Bannon who were on tour from Co. Cork.
The weather had been bitterly cold but bright and sunny to welcome the Cork visitors who are on tour. The team enjoyed a strong game against the visitors and the match finished with a 0-0 scoreline.
Well done to Dromore’s great U15 squad composed of GK Anne Winston, GK Kiara Barlow, Ellen Wright, Emily Robinson, Kirsty Wilson, Sarah Martin, Alanna Wilson, Kerry McDowell, Laura Morton, Bethany Ravey, Shannon Atkinson, Laura Stewart, Amy Glover, Rachel Nelson, Rebekah Dougan.
