BANBRIDGE ABC teenager Adrianna McMullan lost out by just two points on an international place in the National Stadium Dublin on Friday evening.

The first round was a five points to one lead for the opponent from Limerick but Adrianna pulled back in the second round to just a point behind at six points to five.

The third round was an absolute classic with Adrianna throwing jabs, hooks and combinations and doing all but stopping her opponent.

However it was not enough at the bell with the Banbridge girl two points in deficit, but a tremendous finish and one that will without doubt stand Adrianna in good stead for the season.

Training continues in the club at the new premises on Ballymoney Hill on Monday Wednesday and Friday nights at 6.30pm. Beginners train on Tuesdays at 6.30pm and adult boxing circuits on Thursday at 7pm to 8pm and Saturday mornings 10am to 11am.

The next big event for the club is the Barney Savage Memorial Show in the Coach on Friday 9th November at 8pm. Pay at the door with admission £5.
