Adrian is the surprise package in the Haughton Smyth

ONLY four players remain in the Haughton Smyth Cup – Trevor Woods, Rory Madeley, Timothy Hodgett and Adrian Barry.

The results of the quarterfinals were as follows:

Trevor Woods beat Neal Madeley at the 19th; Rory Madeley beat Luke Woods 3 and 2; Timothy Hodgett beat Paul Magennis 3 and 2; Adrian Barry beat Jonathan Ward 1 up.

There was a distinct possibility that the first of the semi-finals would be a father versus son affair or a battle between two brothers. But it was not to be. Luke Woods went out but his father Trevor went through. Neil Madeley went out but his brother Rory progressed.

talk

The performances of Adrian Barry in the bottom half of the draw are the talk of the club. So far, Adrian has beaten Stuart Hunter and Jonathan Ward, two of the highest ranked players in the club. The only person who can prevent Adrian making the final is the young protg, Timothy Hodgett.

Both semi-finals should be exciting affairs.
