Top rally drivers line up for NI Rallycross opener

NUTTS Corner Circuit will be the centre of focus for motorsport fans next on Sunday November when the second round of the Northern Ireland Rallycross Open Championship takes place.
The opening round on October 11 saw a terrific turnout of drivers and spectators to see locals take on the fast circuit with everything from the 500 plus horsepower Division One machines to juniors out in action.

One of the highlights will be the
RX150 class for the spectacular space frame beach buggy style machines. Lightweight and lightening quick makes this a popular class to watch with visiting driver British Open Champion Andy Scott heading the field.

This Sundays meeting will once again see all the classes in action and in addition to the main classes in the sport, the race meeting will also feature the Auto Fashion Rallycross Rally Car Challenge which is a chance for many of the countries top WRC drivers to get some extra use from their machines.

To really kick things off, the entry list includes 2007 & 2008 Division 1 British Rallycross Open Champion - 'Mad Mark' Watson (Citroen Xsara) who secured a lights to flag victory in the opening round and score maximum points from the event to get his Northern Ireland Championship challenge off to the perfect start. Declan Kelly finished second with his Ford Fiesta.

Dromara’s Dennis Biggerstaff has also confirmed an entry in the Rally Car Category which will add extra pressure on the round one winners.

With some 30 Rally Cars competing the days racing will provide plenty of interest for all types of motorsport fans.
