A ho-ho-whole lot of fun at Santa Shoot

THURSDAY December 11 saw the main hall at Banbridge Leisure Centre packed with 117 entries for Ballyvally's Santa Shoot.
Many archers turned out in festive fancy dress. There were raffle prizes and spot prizes for the best behaved juniors and best fancy dress. The event was sponsored by Graham's of Dromore.

The night ended with a presentation to two of Ballyvally’s
international archers; Alan Convery who had just returned from a competition in Holland and to Mark Nesbitt who will be representing Great Britain as a member of the Archery GB Team in the at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in January 2009.

The club wishes Mark every success.

Four year old boys: 1st - Thomas Gibson 185. Five year old girls: 1st - Bethany Stripp. Boys - 1st Alex Convery 305, 2nd Magnus Naeri 158. Six years old - girls: 1st Rose Gibson 199. Boys: 1st John Toombs 264, 2nd Mark Cowan 227. Seven year old girls: 1st Nicole Farrell 251, 2nd Rachelle Stripp 213. Boys 1st Luke McConnell 286, 2nd Ben Lavery 261. Eight year old girls: 1st Aimee Convery 316, 2nd Katie Gibson 250.

Overall winners in 4 – 8 year old age group: Aimee and Alex Convery.

Nine year old girls: 1st Courtney Heslip 324, 2nd Natasha Graham 281. Boys 1st Roald Naeri 320, 2nd James Beckett, 3rd Matthew Corbett 306.

Ten year old girls: 1st Emma Leeper 298, 2nd Rebecca Lennon 281. Boys: 1st Samuel Mount 264, 2nd Ross Clarke 255, 3rd Cameron Brush 243.

Eleven year old girls: 1st Emma Beckett 282, 2nd Morgan Russell-Cowan 271. Boys: 1st Ewan Lynas 330, 2nd Cameron Allison 324.

Overall winners in 9 – 11 year old age group: Courtney Heslip & Ewan Lynas.

Twelve year old girls: 1st Shannon Graham 208. Boys: 1st Frank Lennon 298. Thirteen year old girls: 1st Shannon Russell-Cowan 265. Boys: 1st Matthew Gilmore 277. Fourteen years old girls: 1stChristie Barr 209. Boys: 1st Kyran O’Neill 264. Sixteen year old girls: 1st Lauren Barr. Boys: 1stMark Nesbitt 267. Seventeen year old girls: 1st Ciara Dunleavy 293.

Overall winners in 12 – 17 year old age group: Ciara Dunleavy & Frank Lennon.

Senior Ladies: 1st Jacqui Shilliday 303, 2nd Valerie Sleith 300, 3rd Marion Patterson 296. Beginners: 1st Wilma McMaster 302, 2nd Andrea Hamilton 295, 3rd Nicola Stevenson 275.

Senior Gents: 1st Damien Lennon 322, 2nd Maurice Eakin 316, 3rd Robert McCreery 312. Beginners: 1st Michael McQuiston 314, 2nd Mark McConnell 269, 3rd Jim Curlett 265.

Family Team Winners: Rune & Roald Naeri.

Junior Team Winners: Dean & Mark Hamilton & Frank Lennon.

A big thank you to Bernie Scullion for donating a beautiful hamper for the Junior Committee’s Christmas draw, which was won by Eddie McClean.

Ballyvally Archers wish to thank all who helped organise the event and extend their thanks to the management and staff of Banbridge Leisure Centre for their considerable help throughout the year.

Archery practice sessions resume on January 7, 2009.
