Caroline Pearse, Mount Charles, Banbridge, was fined £200 for driving without insurance on June 30 this year.

She was also given six points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

For not having a vehicle test certificate Pearse was also fined £50.

The court heard police stopped her on the Scarva Road, Banbridge, and asked her to produce her documents which she failed to do. Her test certificate had expired on June 19.

Pearse told the court that she already had three points on her licence for going through a red light.

Her solicitor, Mr Gabriel Ingram, said she took out insurance the day after she was stopped.

He went on to explain that she had moved address and so didn’t receive correspondence from her insurance company.

Imposing six points District Judge Liam McNally told the defendant she now had nine points on her licence and she was ‘going to have to be careful’.
