Kathryn Mitchell, who is considered to be one of Northern Ireland’s top female Gospel vocalists, is to launch her new album.
Kathryn’s previous albums have all been best sellers and she is in very high demand to sing at venues throughout Northern Ireland and the British Isles. Her much anticipated new recording, entitled ‘Faithful’, successfully blends both country and contemporary styles into an album that is sure to be well received by Gospel music enthusiasts and local radio stations alike.
In the past Kathryn has travelled to the United States to record, however, on this occasion she decided to stay at home and record at Hillcrest Recordings based outside Portadown.
Hillcrest producer Colin Elliott was asked about Kathryn Mitchell’s new album. He said, “We were delighted that Kathryn decided to record with us and are all very happy with the new album. Kathryn has a tremendous voice and the recording sessions were always something to look forward to. The ‘Faithful’ album contains some lovely songs and I feel the recording will be a great encouragement to many. Kathryn uses her talent very effectively to share her Christian faith and it was a real honour to be asked to produce this album. I hope it will be the first of many.”
Due to Kathryn’s very busy autumn schedule and touring commitments, she is unable to have a formal release concert for the new album, so the Faith Mission Bookshop manager in Portadown, Jim McKee, suggested that Kathryn do an informal launch and album signing during Saturday, September 21, which is the same day as ‘The Country Comes to Town’ event. Kathryn will be singing songs from her new CD in the bookshop in Magowan Buildings from 11am until mid afternoon. The new album will be available to purchase on the day and through the various Faith Mission Bookshops and Gospel music outlets.
