Anderson calls for focus on jobs

Upper Bann DUP Assembly candidate Sydney Anderson has called for a major focus to be put on job creation by the next Assembly.

Mr Anderson said: “Between 2011 and 2016 the Executive supported the promotion of over 40,000 new jobs through foreign direct investment, business start-ups and local support, well above the 25,000 target.

“Whilst this is positive progress it is still important that the new Assembly and Executive does not rest on its laurels and that a major focus is put on job creation.

“In our 2016 Assembly Manifesto the DUP is making clear our aim to go even further in the next Assembly term and help to deliver 50,000 more jobs.

“We recognise that in some sectors and areas economic recovery has been slower.
