Trust to mark Nutrition Day

TO mark the first ever National Nutrition Day on Wednesday, 20 March, the Southern Health and Social Care Trust is raising awareness of the importance of good nutritional care and hydration in all of its health and social care facilities.

Organised by the Hospital Caterer’s Association and the National Association of Care Catering, the day aims to highlight the important role that all health and social care staff have in preventing malnutrition related illnesses.

The main hospital kitchens in the Southern Trust produce around 21,000 meals each week for patients and staff. In addition meals are provided in residential facilities, supported living accommodation and day centres.
