Tragedy as young mother dies after crash

Tributes have been paid to a young mother-of-four who died after being involved in a road accident last week.

Tanya Nesbitt, 31, from Markethill, had been critically ill at the Royal Victoria Hospital following the two-vehicle collision last Wednesday.

Alderman Jim Speers said it was a tragedy and that his thoughts and prayers were with the family.

“You can only imagine what it must be like to be in that family’s shoes,” he added.

Police later appealed for information about a two vehicle road traffic collision which took place on the Gosford Road at its junction with Killycarn Road, Markethill on Wednesday, 26 October.

A spokesman said the collision was reported to police at around 4.30pm, and involved a silver Vauxhall Vectra car and a white HGV lorry.

Constable Paula Hanna appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or who was travelling in the area and has any information which may be of assistance to police to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 837 26/10/16.

A death insertion said Tanya Noeleen Nesbitt had died ‘peacefully’ in hospital on November 1.

“Late of 18 Edenkennedy Way, Markethill, dearly loved partner of Paul and devoted mother of Josh, Zac, Cody and Paige, much loved daughter of Granville and Noeleen, dear sister of Adam and his partner Linda, “ added the insertion.

The notice said funeral arrangements would be released later.

On social media a friend posted: “So shocked and saddened to hear the sad news about the tragic death of one of my regular clients Tanya Nesbitt.. Tanya was a beautiful girl, such a bubbly character and her appointments were always filled with constant chatter and talk of her 3 boys, her little daughter Paige , her partner and family. I’m am so sorry for your loss and hope you find the strength to get through this sad time. Rest in peace Tanya xxx”.

Another friend posted: “So incredibly sad. Such a young woman who leaves behind an even younger family. May God strengthen & comfort them.”
