Legendary instrumental rock band Ozric Tentacles perform their first ever festival show in Ireland when they headline Sunflowerfest 2013, which runs from 9 to 11 August in Hillsborough.
Also headlining the bill are Alabama 3 Unplugged and the Godfathers of live dance acts, Eat Static, as Sunflowerfest delivers its greatest ever line-up.
It’s a massive coup for the three day event, which is now in its fourth year and continues to be the fastest-growing music and arts festival in Ireland.
The headline acts join the very best bands and artists from across Ireland and beyond including The Rupture Dogs, The Hot Sprockets, Mojo Fury, NI Soul Troop, Ed Zealous, The Dead Presidents, Emerald Armada, Stormzone, Oddsocks Revival, The Bonnevilles, Henry Cluney (Stiff Little Fingers), Sea Pinks, We Town Criers, The Screaming Eagles, Zombified, Gacy’s Threads, The Twisted Sisters, and My Fellow Sponges.
Further acts and a full list of festival activities, including arts, poetry, comedy, literature, workshops, kids zone, and more, will be released in the coming weeks.
Ozric Tentacles have amassed a huge fan base across the globe since their formation in 1983.
Named as the most successful unsigned band of all time, they have released 29 albums and sold over one million records across the planet despite never having major label backing.
In their first ten years Ozric Tentacles released standout albums including Pungent Effulgent (1989), Erpland (1990) and Strangeitude (1991). Their Jurassic Shift album reached the Top 20 of the UK Album Chart.
The band continued their prolific rate of album releases throughout the 90s and into the new millennium, as well as touring extensively across Europe and North America.
In 2011 they released their latest studio album, Paper Monkeys, and again toured USA and Europe.
They now headline Sunflowerfest 2013 as they embark on their exclusive 30th anniversary tour.

Eat Static are one of the most innovative pioneers of Sci-Fi/Worldly infused electronic dance music, Eat Static were the founding members of a movement that has gone on to deliver world-conquering acts like The Prodigy.
They were one of the UK’s first all live dance acts and incorporated awe-inspiring lightshows into their performances.
Their energetic crowd pleasing performances have taken Eat Static to far-flung destinations including USA and Asia, and won them supporting tours with artists like Moby and BT.
Now, after releasing 12 studio albums, and numerous genre-crossing singles and appearing on countless compilation albums and recently gigging in Ukraine, Croatia, Hungary, Greece, Israel, Spain, Russia and Mexico, Eat Static perform live at Sunflowerfest 2013.
Sunflowerfest offers in total, five arenas playing host to over 60 music acts and over 30 other performers. Weekend camping, licensed bars and festival extras are also included.
