Chapterhouse Theatre Company performs an open-air theatrical production of William Shakespeare’s celebrated literary classic A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Solitude Park, Banbridge, this Friday at 7.30pm.
The professional touring theatre company is now in its 13th year and has established itself as one of the most successful and acclaimed companies of its type in UK and Ireland.
In previous years, the company has toured a variety of shows, including Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and Much Ado About Nothing, together with performances of classic works such as The Mystery Plays, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility.
Their open-air performance in Banbridge this Friday is the 15th venue in a 25 location tour for their rendition of A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream, which has been running from January and ends in August.
Audiences are invited to let themselves be whisked away on a thrilling journey to the most magical of forests, and meet Star-crossed lovers, playful fairies and raucous travelling players.
Banbridge District Council Arts and Events Officer, Leah Duncan, says, “This free outdoor event offers a unique opportunity for families who want to spend quality time together enjoying a rich cultural experience.
“This is the fourth time we have staged a theatre production in the splendorous setting of Solitude Park and once again we’re hoping to get a great turnout.
“Anyone who attends is welcome to bring along a picnic and enjoy the live performance.”
A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Solitude Park, Banbridge, is a free event with no bookings required.
