Banbridge District Council has brought a burst of colour to residents and visitors with the opening of Banbridge Town’s first pop up art gallery.
Located in previously vacant premises at 14 Scarva Street, the exhibition entitled ‘One Foot Square’ features paintings, drawings and sculptures by local artists plus others from further afield.
Arts, Events and Town Centre Manager, Mechelle Brown said: “this is a great opportunity to use vacant space within the town centre.
“The exhibition will bring extra vitality to Scarva Street and make use of premises which have been empty.
“A celebration event which will bring all the artists together will be held on Thursday 16 October at 7pm and everyone is invited to come along and view the superb artwork on show.”
The project is supported through the Banbridge Revitalisation Project which includes a range of initiatives such as a shop front improvement schemes, a free public wifi project and new signage for town centre car parks. The exhibition is part of the Autumn Arts programme and continues until October 31.
