New shuttle bus service for leisure centre

BANBRIDGE Leisure Centre is operating a free shuttle bus service every Wednesday throughout July and August so that children aged 17 and under who are coming from other parts of the district can avail of its £1 summer swimming deal.

With the exception of Wednesday July 11, the bus will operate from 9am until 5.30pm every Wednesday and have a designated pick-up and drop-off point in Dromore, Kinallen, Gilford, Laurencetown, Rathfriland, Annaclone and Loughbrickland.

Places on the bus are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis. It is compulsory to book a place and this can be done one week in advance.

Bookings for Kinallen and Dromore can be made at Dromore Community Centre on 9269 9070, whereas those for Gilford can be made at Gilford Community Centre on 3883 1708.

Bookings for Annaclone and Rathfriland can be made at Rathfriland Community Centre on 4063 8188 and bookings for Loughbrickland at Banbridge Leisure Centre on 4062 8800.

Parents are reminded that children under 8 cannot use the swimming pool unless they are accompanied by an adult.

Furthermore, in the interests of safety, it is advisable that children under 12 be accompanied by an adult if they are being picked up or dropped off in the rural locations of Kinallen, Laurencetown, Annaclone and Loughbrickland.

The bus will operate to a set schedule.
