DUP Councillor and Upper Bann Assembly candidate Cllr Carla Lockhart has visited the Age NI shop and advice service available on Rathfriland Street in Banbridge to view the service and help promote awareness of its service.

Speaking following her visit Cllr Lockhart said: “I was highly impressed with this unique service in the Banbridge area.

“I wanted to familiarise myself with the service available and to learn of some of the real issues affecting our older generations.

“One of the major concerns is that of benefits, residential care, and the making of wills. I was impressed to see that AgeNI in Banbridge has a service running every Wednesday morning with appointments for older people to come and get advice on these issues.

“I would encourage as many people as possible to use this excellent service. It is vital that our senior citizens feel valued, have access to information and are given advice on issues that matter to them.

“I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the service and I wish them well for the future. I will be endeavouring to strike up a strong working relationship with AgeNI going forward so that I can continue to be well informed about the needs of our ageing population.”
