'ONE OF A KIND'
A BANBRIDGE man who tragically died in a road accident on Friday night has been described by his family as "one of a kind".
Adrian Durr was killed after being hit by a car in Louth while on his way home from work at around 9pm on Friday night.
It is thought the 37-year-old, well-known for setting up popular Facebook site Banbridge Bling, stopped his car on the M1 near Castlebellingham and was standing outside when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
Hundreds of people, including Adrian's mother Rita and his three sisters Colette, Laverne and Diane, turned out at St Patrick's Church on the Dromore Road yesterday (Monday) to say goodbye to a man they said was "the most important person in our lives".
Mr Durr's niece Laura Caughey paid a moving tribute to her uncle, saying their world had fallen apart when they heard the news late on Friday night.
"Adrian was an only son and brother and we loved his bones," she said.
"He was so tragically taken from us and we are all going to have such a void in our lives.
"Ady has known so many people that we were not even awareof and he touched so many people's lives."
The Banbridge Bling site, set up in August, has been inundated with messages and tributes to Mr Durr, since Friday night, including one user who said "there will be many tears shed in Banbridge."
Mr Durr, known as Ady to friends, dedicated a lot of time to the upkeep of the Bling site - a Facebook application that allows users to send and receive virtual gifts tailored to Banbridge.

In an interview with the Banbridge Leader in September Mr Durr said he was inspired to create the Bling site to spread some cheer throughout the town and beyond.
He said, "I started thinking about things from my teenage years and they made me smile so I thought how good it would be to create lots of different gifts so people could share in the fun."
Almost 14,000 gifts and more than 400 users later, Banbridge Bling is something the family hope will be a lasting tribute to their beloved son and brother.
Laura said, "Adrian created Banbridge Bling and it was his baby. We used to be amazed as he sat on his laptop and chuckled at things from the past that would touch people's memories.
"Please God, people will keep Banbridge Bling alive in his memory.
"Thank-you to all the people who have used Banbridge Bling and thanks to everyone who has supported our family over these past couple of days and the days ahead."
