No insurance to drive car

A RATHFRILAND beautician has been fined £200 and disqualified for 14 days after pleading guilty to having no insurance.

Melissa Doyle (21) from Katesbridge Road, Rathfriland appeared before the local court last Thursday.

She came to police attention on 24 November last when she was stopped driving a Rover car in the Banbridge area.

Checks revealed she had her own insurance policy but was not covered to drive this particular car.

A solicitor said she had only driven a short distance as her friend who owned the car had been drinking.

Doyle also had to pay an offenders levy of £15.
