DROMORE’s Mountvale Private Nursing Home was a sea of red, white and blue as staff and residents recently joined in celebrations of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee.
Mountvale, a spokeperson said, celebrated the Jubilee in style.
She added, “In preparation for the celebration our residents had make decorations for the home; they decorated plates and made badges; they also made cakes and buns and decorated them according to the Jubilee theme.
“On the actual day we had a magician, who came in and entertained our residents and visitors; we also had a lovely visit from a finalist for the Teen Face of Northern Ireland, Lauren Eakins.
“Lauren was dressed for our special occasion; she went around meeting and greeting the residents.”
The highlight of the day was a visit from ‘the Queen’ herself; she greeted residents and visitors and stopped for photographs as she presented each resident with an engraved commemorative coin.
