Man rescued from chip pan fire

A SMALL fire in the kitchen of a terrace house in Brookfield Park, Banbridge resulted in local firefighters rescuing a 20-year-old man and treating him with oxygen for smoke inhalation.

An overheating chip pan had caused smoke alarms to actuate and alert persons to the danger. The man was also treated at the scene by ambulance personnel.
