Man dies in Poyntzpass road crash

A MAN who died following a road crash in Poyntzpass on Thursday has been named as John Hillis, 65, from the village.

Police have asked for witnesess to come forward following the incident which involved a van and a car and took place at 5.45pm on the Tandragee Road.

A woman in her 30s was also injured and was taken to hospital but her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Independent Unionist councillor Paul Berry said the community was “shocked and saddened” by the death on what he said was a busy road.
