Leader article raises awareness of rare condition

A DROMARA woman whose daughter suffers from Hyperinsulinism would like to thank local groups for their fundraising efforts.

In January, The Leader featured the story of little Georgina Bailey, who suffers from the rare condition.

This week her mum Christine contacted us to say that the article had raised awareness of the condition locally.

She said: “Thanks to your great article in the Leader, we have been very fortunate with further local fundraising for The Children’s Hyperinsulinism Fund at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

“The Donacloney Rural Needs Group and Round Robin Club raised 120 and a Tai Bo Keep Fit Class in The Lagan Centre in Dromara raised 46.”
