All our yestedays to be re-lived at Library film show
LISBURN City Library is inviting you to take a step in time next Wednesday when it shows film of some of the most momentous events of the last centrury under the guidance of David Bridges.
Footage illustrating some of the most dramatic and often bloody events such as the raising of the 36th Ulster Divison, Sir Edward Carson, the Western Front 1914-18, the Easter Rising and the Irish war of Independence 1919-22 are all to be found on the Northern Ireland Digital Film archive database.
The archive is owned by the Northern Ireland Screen but has been made available to the public through venues such as the Lisburn City Library.
Lisburn Community Librarian, Julie Reid, is delighted to be hosting the event and said "Anybody who has ever looked at old photographs and found them fascinating will be even more intrigued by how these old moving images really bring our history to life."
Everybody is welcome to attend the event takes place on Wednesday 8th July at 7pm, however booking is essential.
