Library hosts free events

THE newly refurbished Rathfriland Library is holding two free events.

On Friday, May 10, a free workshop - ‘Family History Online For Beginners’ will be held from 11am-12.30pm

It will give people an introduction to the resources available in libraries to help you research your family history.

You will need to have some basic computer skills to fully benefit from the workshops

Booking is essential as places are limited.

Also on Friday, May 10 the library will host ‘The Linen Industry: A Nostalgic look at the past through the medium of digital film’ starting at 3pm

During this presentation, digital films will be shown to highlight the social, economic and political context of the importance of the Linen Industry to Northern Ireland during a period on which it was heavily reliant.

These films have been taken from the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission’s Digital Film Archive (DFA)

Admission is free but booking is essential.
