Lambs stolen from field near Rathfriland

Police investigating the theft of more than 30 lambs from a field on the Lisnacroppin Road, outside Rathfriland have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The 35 Dorset, Suffolk and Texel breed ewe lambs were stolen sometime between 4pm on Tuesday, October 4 and 9am on Wednesday, October 5.

According to police, the lambs are identifiable by a blue mark on their left side.

Constable Purdy said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or has any information regarding this incident to contact Armagh Police Station on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 523 on 05.10.16.

“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
