Fitness classes available in Gilford centre

GILFORD Community Centre now offers a wide range of fitness classes for anyone in the local area who wants to shed a few pounds, improve their fitness or simply enjoy the benefits of being physically active.

Opened in April this year, the brand new sports facility aims to offer a variety of classes each day and will continue to develop its activity programme so that additional activities such as pilates and yoga will be available in the coming months.

There are currently nine classes available from Monday to Thursday and these include:

Studio Cycling - Monday 14 May - 6pm to 6.45pm; Kettlebells - Monday 14 May - 7pm to 7.45pm; Zumba - Monday 21 May - 8pm to 9pm; Aerobics - Tuesday 1 May - 6.30pm to 7.30pm; Circuit training - Tuesday 15 May - 7pm to 8pm; Circuit training - Thursday 17 May - 7pm to 8pm; Extreme Kettlebells - Wednesday 16 May - 6.30pm to 7.15pm; Kids Soccer School (2-5 years) - Wednesday 23 May - 4pm to 4.45pm; Kids Soccer School (6-13 years) - Wednesday 23 May - 5pm to 6pm.

To join one of these classes, simply turn up on the day and time of the class. However, a booking is required for kettlebells and studio cycling as a limited number of places are available.

To ensure you get a reduced rate every time you use the centre or attend a class, you should join the Council’s Leisure Pass scheme. Application forms to join this scheme are available from the centre’s reception.
