Fishy goings on at Ballievey meeting

Everyone was welcomed back to Ballievey Women’s Institute’s September meeting after their summer break by President, Kathleen Moore, who then introduced speakers from Northern Ireland Women in Fisheries.

While some cooked samples of fish, others explained the numerous benefits of cooking and eating it.They explained the organisation’s origins and links with similar groups in the U.K. and Europe and their support of Fishermen’s wives and widows.

The competition ‘an unusual dishcloth’ was won by Roberta Macauley while Doreen Cherry was second.

The ballot was won by Dorothy Shanks.
