DUP Councillor Carla Lockhart has welcomed the proposed NIHE lighting for the rear of Golf Terrace but she claimed the scheme doesn’t go far enough in resolving issues.
Councillor Lockhart said, “I have been speaking with residents concerning the proposed lighting and I welcome the progress made with external lighting being placed to the rear of Housing Executive properties.
“This will create some light in what is a dark area, however, I believe more needs to be done in conjunction with the street lighting division in Road Service to help those who own their own homes.
“It is essential that residents feel safe and secure in their own home and therefore, I will be continuing to work with these residents to try and help in what is a very difficult situation for residents who feel vulnerable in their own home.
“PSNI are very aware of this situation and we will be working with them concerning additional patrols.”
